Some are deviating from battery technology and investigating technologies that have a greater potential, such as supercapacitors. The vision from the research being done on these new alternatives to conventional batteries lies on the hope of a long-lasting battery. Of course, the obstacles to making this idea come true are to fill safety and environmental impact requirements, as well as to use a rechargeable fuel source. Nevertheless, the industry is ever closer to overcoming these obstacles with recent breakthroughs in alternatives to conventional batteries.
